Progression in Printing
Today was the second day of our 3d printing and modeling class, and we did so much! The day started with a bang, and we learned how to connect and how to 3d print our models. Ben, Eli, and decided that we wanted to print out the beer bottle we made in Fusion 360. To be able to transfer the model we made in Fusion to the 3d printer, we had to put it through Ultra Maker. Ultra Maker is a very important and fascinating tool; you can alter the printing stability, detail, scale, etc. After putting it through Ultra Maker, we could finally start to print it! Printing the beer bottle took 16 minutes, even though it was only the size of my middle finger.
In the afternoon, we went back to modeling in Fusion 360. We started trying to make a paper clip, and almost everyone could finish. With our newfound printing skills, we decided to make our own paper clip, and they surprisingly held up very well. Once we had fun with paper clips, we moved on to the next tutorial about making a whisky bottle. I had trouble making the whisky bottle because my rails didn't connect properly, so I couldn't use the loft tool. Overall today was both an amazing learning experience and incredibly fun. We did and covered so much, and I learned so much. I can't wait to see what tomorrow holds!
