Day 3: My 3d model phone case (a work in progress) (Tori Moore)

The day first stated off with all of the class going over the whiskey bottle homework and giving advice to others that came across challenges. My whiskey bottle model came out pretty well, and if I were to print it, I'd be happy with the shape.

For some more practice, we had also made a Hexagonal Nut which was done fairly quickly as it was a simple design.

But for most of the day I had decided to take on the challenge of following the phone case tutorial, but not using the iPhone X reference that was given. I had gone out and found an iPhone 13 pro max reference so the case will be able to line up with my actual iPhone.

This was my first time ever trying to create a shape off of different measurements from the video tutorial and my first time tweaking the instructions to my own preferred reference. I had learned a little about how to work with different models from the original instructions.

The phone case model was not easy though, and I did run into some problems. Most of them I would be able to figure out, I am still stumped on how to make the back of the case, but I decided to work through it by picking it up tomorrow. Id also be able to work through the problem by asking another student who also is working on the phone case model.

Today, I was proud of how much I had learned that involved creating models and little by little not always having to rely on exact instructions in the videos, but rather use them as a guide.

People who had not 3D printed out anything
were also able to use this day to print out any models that had not been printed out yet, so a lot of people had printed out the Nuts we made and the Paperclips.
