day 5: 3D printing and start on final project (Tori Moore)

In class, I was able start printing out my phone case model and start on my final project.

At first, I had just wanted my final project to be a regular Pokeball, but Mr. Grisbee had given me the idea to try and add a hinge joint to it so it will be able to open and close. This was a great proposal because creating a hinge would have me make something new, I had not done before.

A new skill that I had learned to use that was taught to me was the how to use the section analysis tool. It is very use full as I can check if two pieces, I've created fit within each other before printing.

It was also very useful   following along tutorials on   how to add a hinge to a   Pokeball.

The problem that we ran into with printing the phone was that the wrong version of the phone was put on the printer without the supports, so it was thought that it would fail when trying to print out the buttonholes, but surprisingly it was able to print out the hole perfectly and it came out looking nice.

To prepare myself for next week I was also able to place my 3D model of the hinge in UltiMaker so I can print it out first thing when I get to school.
