Day 5: Put a Ring on it (Everest)
Today was not as productive or eventful as the other days but it was necessary in order to progress. I finished my ring design and printed it once I got the chance. However, the finished product was not very pleasing. I was mainly disappointed about the gem holder because the rest of the stuff like the letter E and the sizing worked out relatively well (which I am really happy about). The holder was just too fine and small for the printer to print entirely accurately so I needed to go back to the drawing board. Mr. Grisbee gave me the idea of making the gem and ring sort of like puzzle pieces so they would fit together, but when I printed the gem for that design, it was too small again. 
I thought about it for a bit once I had finished lunch and I realized that this might not be a very viable design. I could spend a lot fo time on it and completely refine it, but I still want to do another individual project and it'll probably be a lot more involved than a small ring. So, for now, I have just made two rings with a similar design (just without the gem holder) and I will print than first thing on Monday. Its been a week full of learning for sure.
